Applications of Calcium stearate products

Calcium Stearate, white powder, insoluble in water, cold ethanol and ether, soluble in organic solvents such as hot benzene, benzene and turpentine, slightly soluble in hot ethanol and ether. Slowly decompose when heated to 400℃, flammable, decompose into Stearic Acid and corresponding calcium salt when meet strong acid, hygroscopic. It is mainly used as stabilizer, lubricant, Paint Smoothing Agent, lubricant of pencil core, etc.

Calcium Stearate is used as a heat stabilizer for PVC and a lubricant for many kinds of plastic processing, mold release agent, etc. In hard products, it is used with salt-based lead salts and lead soap to improve the gelation speed. It is also used in food packaging, medical appliances and other soft films and appliances that require non-toxicity. It can also be used as halogen absorber for polyethylene and polypropylene to eliminate the adverse effects of residual catalyst on color and stability. In the rubber processing as plasticizer, can make natural rubber and synthetic rubber softening, but almost no effect on vulcanization. It is also used as lubricant for polyolefin fiber and molding plastic, thickening agent for grease, waterproofing agent for textile, smoothing agent for paint, plasticizer for making plastic records, etc. It is also used in the production of pencil cores and in the pharmaceutical and spice industries.
